AMSTERCANNES

In 2023, I assisted with the AmsterCannes event, an initiative that brought the Cannes Lions Festival to the Netherlands in collaboration with Orange Lions, the official representative of Cannes Lions. During this event, I was involved in the organization on the day itself. My responsibilities included preparing and managing the schedules to ensure all speakers had enough time and that everything ran smoothly. Along with a colleague, I managed the two largest stages.

 

I found this experience particularly enjoyable because it was my first intensive exposure to the events industry and schedule planning. On the day of the event, we, along with the team, ensured everything was perfect for the guests. We were responsible for coordinating all the sessions and the technical execution on the main stages, which involved closely monitoring timing and logistics to prevent delays or technical issues.

 

Under the guidance of ADE Producer Jos Wouters, we received a detailed briefing on the best approach for the day. This guidance helped us plan strategically and anticipate problems proactively. During the event, I learned a lot about handling time pressure and making quick, well-considered decisions when the risk of issues was high. It was an intense and educational experience that significantly enhanced my skills in event organization and problem-solving.
