BOOMERANG AGENCY

For my internship, I sought a production company where I could gain the necessary experience. After extensive research and consideration of various options, I discovered an intriguing opportunity at Boomerang Agency on LinkedIn. Boomerang Agency is a production house specializing in creating diverse advertisements to convey compelling stories, exactly what I was looking for in an internship.

Boomerang Agency is a creative, socially driven company focused on producing impactful brand content through collaboration with in-house Directors of Photography, directors, post-producers, and editors. With many processes conducted in-house, the agency can swiftly transition between different production phases.

Two years ago, Boomerang was acquired by the international advertising agency Publicis Groupe, based in Paris. This acquisition made Boomerang part of a vast agency network active in 104 countries worldwide.

My internship began in February 2023. From the outset, I felt welcomed and was treated as a valued colleague. The onboarding sessions were instrumental in familiarizing myself with the company and new colleagues. During my internship, I acquired a variety of skills, including creating and maintaining call sheets, shot lists, and arranging locations, catering, and casting. I also had the opportunity to work on various sets and explore different roles, such as camera assistant and sound engineer.

Communication emerged as one of the most crucial skills I developed during my internship, both with clients and colleagues. Effective communication was essential for acquiring and retaining clients and ensuring the smooth execution of productions.

Boomerang Agency boasts a diverse clientele, including Heineken, Albert Heijn, Barilla, and many others. Working on projects for these prominent brands was highly rewarding and provided immense satisfaction, especially upon seeing the final results.

After a few months, I observed an increase in my responsibilities, as I began taking on more tasks from producers. This allowed me to further expand my learning path. I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom and diversity of the work, which took me to various locations both within the Netherlands and abroad.

The internship at Boomerang was an invaluable experience that significantly enhanced my skills as a producer. I am grateful for the guidance and the opportunity to learn in a professional and supportive environment. I would highly recommend this internship to other junior producers or interns.
